Welfare Reform

The Government is replacing a number of benefits to make the benefit system simpler.

This new benefit is called Universal Credit.   It means that in future all your benefits, including any housing benefit, will be made into your bank account monthly in arrears.   It is important that you get in to the habit of budgeting so your money lasts the whole month.

Universal Credit is being trialed in some areas and is due to come in to force for everyone in April 2017.
